🎃 Happy Halloween, Students! 🎃 As you get ready for a night of fun and frights, here are some tips to ensure you stay safe: -Travel in Groups: There’s safety in numbers. Stick with your friends and look out for each other. -Stay Visible: Wear bright costumes or add reflective tape to your outfit. Carry a flashlight to help you see and be seen. -Check Your Treats: Before diving into your candy haul, make sure to inspect all treats for any signs of tampering. -Respect Others: Be mindful of your neighbors and their property. Not everyone celebrates Halloween, so be courteous. -Stay on the Path: Stick to well-lit streets and avoid shortcuts through alleys or unlit areas. -Emergency Contacts: Have a plan and know how to reach your friends or family if you get separated. -Have a spooktacular time, but remember, safety first! 🕸️👻 #HalloweenSafety #StaySafe #HappyHalloween

The goodies the students got today are coming home with car riders. If they ride a bus the bus drivers stated there is not enough room on the bus for the bags. If you would like to come pick up today there will be someone in the gym until 3:30pm. Otherwise you can come pick them up tomorrow during school hours or the Safety Walk at 1pm.

Chart your course to the school cafeteria to celebrate National School Lunch Week! The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) serves nearly 30 million children every school day. President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW) in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and its impact inside and outside the classroom. GCS students are invited to eat school meals free of charge through our participation in the Community Eligibility Program (CEP).

This week, we highlight the value of good character and its essential role in building strong communities that value positive, healthy relationships and respectful behavior. We celebrate young people who are role models of good character in their communities and support the parents and educators who teach our young people to be trustworthy, respectful, responsible, fair, caring, and good citizens.

School personnel monitor and investigate reports to help protect our students and keep them safe at school. SCHOOL SECURITY UPDATE Local law enforcement has been notified of threats directed towards high schools in the county. A Homeland Security investigation suggests that these threats may be part of a larger trend affecting schools across West Virginia and other states. At this time, we have no reason to believe that these threats are credible. Out of an abundance of caution, we will be increasing security measures in our schools over the next few days.
