Dear Senior Parents,
It’s hard to believe we’ve made it to this moment, our children’s senior year. What once felt so far away is now right in front of us, and time seems to be moving faster than ever as graduation quickly approaches.
With this in mind, time is of the essence as we work to finalize Project Graduation. We truly need all hands on deck to help make this a safe, memorable celebration for our seniors. We are asking for your support in raising funds or securing donation’s, every contribution, big or small will make a meaningful difference in bringing this event together. Let’s all keep working hard to create a fun, engaging and memorable evening for everyone.
We would like to share a few important updates:
Food & Refreshments
BBQ and sides - Matt McClung (Matt and Shannon are generously donating the BBQ; we will only need to purchase the sides). One pan, serving size 60. Sides will include potatoes and mac and cheese.
Pizza - Jeff Vandall $9.00 a pizza (going to purchase 10)
Cake- Walmart
Cookies- Becky Lipps (we will be buying the ingredients, Becky will be donating her time to make them for our seniors.
For drinks and snacks, we thought it might be helpful to organize donations by students last names:
A-H: Case of water
I-P: Case of pop
Q-Z: Box of chips
We kindly ask that all donations be turned in by Tuesday, May 5th. Items can be dropped off at GWHS - please let them know they are for Project Graduation. This will help us keep track of what has been donated so we can plan for any additional needs. (point of contact at the school for this is Mrs. Mooney).
Music & Entertainment:
Music/Karaoke we have hired Mark Trump $300
Activities:
Photo Booth - Shannon and Michelle will be making us a decorated backdrop with balloons and props (we have purchased props from Amazon to help cut costs). Students will be able to take their own selfies, and we are looking into providing instant cameras so each student can receive one printed photo.(this is not definite, gonna wait to see where we are with cost).
Mini Golf- Kissney contacted and booked a 9 hole mini golf setup for the event.
Cornhole - We need boards and bags. If you have a set you can bring, please let Jessie, Kissney or Amanda Franklin know.
Family Feud - we are reaching out to Jacob Perkins to see if he will help us out with this, and if he agrees, this event will be held in the auditorium
Aux Gym - basketball and volleyball
Paint a Canvas: we will be purchasing 11 x 13 cardstock canvas books (2 for $30.00) for a fun, creative activity. (We may have to purchase paint, Ms. Belle is going to let us use paint brushes. (Misty Walkup will be helping with this activity)
Sumo Wrestling - We are planning to use the cheer teams Gerbil Balls and have this activity in the circle.
Additional Information:
Custodians
We are required to have two custodians on site for the event.(cost details will be finalized).
Survey Monkey was sent out today to our Seniors to see how many will be participating in Project Graduation. If they don’t fill the survey out they will not be allowed to attend (4/20 and they have one week to get it submitted. It will close on 4/27 at the end of the day.
Parent Involvement
Parent Involvement is key to making this evening successful, and we truly appreciate your support! Mrs. Burns must have a list of all parents/guardians who plan to attend, so please be sure to communicate to Jessie, Kissney or Amanda Franklin if you will be volunteering. No guests will be allowed.
Our Final Project Graduation meeting will be
May 4th
6:00 PM
West Cafeteria
We encourage all parents and seniors to attend as we finalize plans for this special event!
